6 - Norwegian Breakaway – 146,600 tonnes
The Norwegian Breakaway is the largest cruise ship with a home port in New York City. It was built in 2011 and is operated by the Norwegian Cruise Line. Some of it's attractions feature a restaurant and a comedy club.

The Queen Mary 2 is a transatlantic ocean liner, making its design different than most resort/cruise passenger ships. The ships is designed to routinely cross the Atlantic Ocean, transporting passengers along the way. She has 1,296 rooms and can carry 3,090 people.

The three Freedom-class ships built by Royal Caribbean International, were the largest cruise ships ever built at the time of their construction in 2006, until the Oasis-class ships were built in 2009. They feature gyms, restaurants, theaters and dance halls, surf simulators, and more.

The Norwegian Epic was launched in 2010 and was built by the Norwegian Cruise Line. Originally supposed to be two ships, the second was canceled only partway through the project, resulting in the sole Epic. At 344 million pounds, it is the largest ship in the world that is not built by Royal Caribbean. It features a water park and can hold over 5,000 people.

The third and fourth largest cruise ships on Earth (372 million lbs each!) are the Quantum-class ships, Anthem and Quantum of the Seas. They are the newest Ships on this list, being launched in 2014 and 2015. Built by Royal Caribbean International, they feature many activities and entertainment, such as a full sized basketball coart, that can convert to a dance floor, roller-skating arena, bumper car ride, and many others. At just under half a billion pounds each, the Allure and Oasis of the Seas are the two largest passenger ships ever made. They are both “Oasis-class” cruise ships built by the cruise company, Royal Caribbean International, following the exact same building specifications, although the Allure is 2 inches longer than the Oasis, simply by accident. The Oasis-class is the current largest class of cruise ship.
